JP-6/JP-7

Fuels meant for supersonic aircraft. Their low freezing point of −53.9°C makes them suitable for cold climates and high-altitude use. It is a wide-cut kerosene. JP-7 was used in the Lockheed SR-71 aircraft. JP-6 and JP-7 have thermal stability. JP-6 is popularly known as a “heart-cut distillate.”
